Carmen began her singing lessons with the soprano, María Coronado Herrera, in her home city of Badajoz, Spain.
She won numerous awards in competitions such as Operalia, Franciso Viñas, Manuel Ausensi or Grand Voices of Seville.
A frequent solist in leading roles in the Zarzuela Theater of Madrid, notably for her performances in Juan José and Entre Sevilla y Triana by Sorozábal, El Gato Montes, María del Pilar and La Dolores by Tomás Bretón, in addition to La del Soto del Parral, La Rosa del Azafrán or togrther with the Extremadura Orchestra in Luisa Fernanda and El Barberillo de Lavapiés.
Her principal roles on stage, always as the lead, began in 2009 with Un Ballo in Maschera in the opera of Oviedo, where in later seasons she performed Madama Butterfly and Leonora (Il Trovatore) and this later opera in the National Opera of Croacia as well. Also, Tosca in Bilbao, Pamplona, Sabadell (and on tour with Opera de Catalunya Foundation) as well as in the Giglio Theater in Lucca, Italy and in the Éfeso Theater in Izmir, Turkey; Contessa (Le Nozze di Figaro) in ABAO Bilbao; Fidelia (Edgar) and Anna (Le Villi) in the Teatro Monumental in Madrid.
Among her recent performances, most notably is her debut as Rosario in the opera Goyescas during the season in Oviedo, Manon Lescaut and Puccini’s Tosca in the Catalunya Opera and the role of Salud in Falla’s La Vida Breve with the OSRTVE.
In 2015 was the release of her first solo CD “Nana” of Spanish song together with the pianist Eduardo Moreno (Brilliant Classics) and in 2019 she recorded “La Seduzione” with Rubén Fernánde Aguirre on the piano (IBS Classical).
